Spring Cleaning & Scripts
News has been slow since February. The only reason for this is because I needed a good break from the website after putting so much work into making the redesign work both for me and for my potential clients. However, things are now moving along nicely and it's time for an update!

My studio PC is a mess! Not the image you have in your head with cables everywhere and dust all over the place, no. I mean digitally. Since 2004 I've backed up over 2TB of data onto 3 hard drives and I decided it was time to sort it all out and reinstall everything. I reinstall regularly because I hate filling my PC with unwanted software that use up resources. Some people put up with it and install new software to sort out the previous software that was helping their computer to work faster, which it doesnt because all this software is clogging everything up and the cycle continues. Nightmare! I like the feel of a fresh computer system with as little additional software I can get away with.
I have an external drive where I can store data until needed. It took some time trawling through my hard drives deciding what I wanted to keep and what needed deleting. Then there is the sorting of the files into categories such as Sound Design, Music, Images, Video, etc. This isn't quite so easy when there are mutiples of the same file in different locations, and some of those are renamed!
Anyway, enough of the boring stuff. You want to know about the script in the photo don't you...
On the very same day my website was relaunched I recieved an email from a client wanting a new sound designer/editor for two new episodes of a popular BBC7 radio drama.
Unfortunately I can't provide further details of these productions until they're officially announced. All I can say is that it has links to the Doctor Who community and the first episode will be launched later this year. More details to come once announced by the studio. I also think it's worth noting that BBC7 has changed its name to BBC Radio 4 Extra for no good reason I can think of. They say it's a popularity thing and changing the name will bring in more listeners but I can't see it.
Another project in pre-production is a film I will be composing music for. This is more top secret than the BBC7 stuff! The only thing I can say about this is that it IS Doctor Who!
All this new professional work means having to put my own projects and those with Splintered Image to one side until further notice. That means Osiris and The Keep will have to wait. The professional work always comes first.
See you in May for a Birthday update!
